Cash boost for Guildford borough affordable housing

  • Published

More than £1m worth of government funding has been allocated to provide more affordable homes in Surrey.

New housing schemes in Guildford town centre, Burpham and Effingham will benefit, while some extra funding will help house vulnerable young people.

Twenty-eight new affordable homes, for shared ownership sale and for rent, are due to be completed in the next year.

Guildford Borough Council said the grant recognised the continued need for such housing in the borough.
