Boy faces Bisley cannabis factory charge

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with drugs offences after a cannabis factory was found at a house in Surrey.

Surrey Police said the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was accused of production of a Class B drug.

The boy is due to appear before magistrates in Guildford on Thursday.

Officers said cannabis plants were found growing in a downstairs living room and three bedrooms of the property in Greyfriars Drive.

Insp James Norbury said: "This discovery shows that cannabis factories are not confined to inner cities, as is often the perception."

He urged people to look out for lots of visitors to a house at all times of day or night, covered-up windows, unusual coloured lights, roof tiles raised for ventilation purposes or a strong herbal smell coming from the property.
