Eight arrests over fight near pub in Walton-on-Thames

Eight men have been arrested after a fight near a pub in a Surrey town.

Surrey Police have warned people to know their alcohol limits after the brawl near the Noble Vine in Walton-on-Thames on Saturday night.

Officers said the altercation at about 2330 BST involved people who had been drinking in the town earlier.

One of the arrested men suffered a dislocated shoulder. Another man who was not arrested suffered head injuries. Both were taken to hospital.

Six men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray and causing grievous bodily harm. One was arrested on suspicion of affray.

The eighth man was arrested at a nearby address on suspicion of affray after officers viewed CCTV footage.

All were bailed pending further inquiries.

Pc Ross Linaker said: "This is another reminder for people to know their limits when consuming alcohol, especially now the weather is getting warmer and people tend to drink for longer periods of time during the day."
