Ash assault: fifth teenager questioned

A fifth teenager has been arrested by police investigating an attack in Surrey which left the 46-year-old victim with serious head injuries.

The 17-year-old boy has been questioned about the incident which took place in an alleyway behind Fairview Road, Ash just after 2000 BST on Wednesday.

The victim was admitted to intensive care following the assault.

A 14-year-old, a 19-year-old and two 16-year-olds were also arrested. All five have been bailed until 19 May.

The assault followed an earlier incident in Ash Skate Park, Ash Hill Road, when a stick and stones were thrown at a female dog walker and the dog.

The woman suffered a cut to her thigh.

The 46-year-old man and two teenage companions went looking for the group responsible.
