Men in Thames Ditton threaten boy with metal pole

A 15-year-old boy was forced to hand over his mobile phone, iPod and wallet and bank cards after being threatened with a metal pole by four men.

The teenager, from Surbiton, was walking home when he was approached in Sugden Road, Thames Ditton, Surrey.

After the incident the men ran from the scene and drove away in a dark-coloured vehicle towards the town.

Det Con Sharon Curtis said it was a frightening experience for the boy, who was very distressed.

"He was cynically targeted by a group of older suspects as he walked home alone," she said.

She appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident, at 1215 BST on Friday, to come forward.

The man holding the metal pole is described as black, in his early-20s, of medium build and about 5ft 11in tall. He was wearing a dark hooded top with the hood up.

The other three are all described as white and in their early to mid-20s. All were about 5ft 11in to 6ft tall and wearing hooded tops. One of them had a shaved head.
