Armed robbery at Windlesham petrol station

Thieves stole cash during a "terrifying" armed robbery at a petrol station in Surrey.

Detectives said two men threatened a member of staff with a claw hammer and a pick axe handle during the raid in London Road, Windlesham.

They then took crash from the till before fleeing towards Bagshot.

Surrey Police said the male member of staff was not injured during the incident on Monday at about 2100 BST and appealed for information.

Temp Det Sgt Chris Greatorex said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for the member of staff who was threatened with violence but thankfully came to no harm."

The first man was said to be white, about 5ft 5in tall, and wearing a black hooded top and black trousers.

The second suspect was also white, about 5ft 8in tall and dressed in dark clothing.
