A thief stole cameras worth £2,000 during a burglary at a photography shop in Surrey.

Detectives said a masked suspect smashed a window and then filled a bag with items from the store in Cranleigh High Street at 1225 BST on Wednesday.

Surrey Police have urged anyone offered a camera for sale which they think may be stolen to contact officers.

The suspect, who is believed to be male, was wearing jogging bottoms and a hooded top.

Det Con Dan Chant said: "I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time of the offence and saw anything suspicious to contact officers.

"The suspect was carrying a large, black bag which may well have caught your attention.

"I would also ask residents to be vigilant and keep an eye out for cameras being sold in suspicious circumstances."
