Man charged over Dorking knifepoint bank raid

A 37-year-old man has been charged following an attempted knifepoint robbery at a Surrey bank.

Police were called to Barclays Bank, High Street, Dorking, after a man demanded cash and threatened members of the public and staff with a knife.

No-one was injured and no cash was taken during the incident, which took place at about 15.20 BST on Thursday, the force said.

Surrey Police said a man from Horsham had been charged with robbery.
