Reigate taxi passenger 'may be witness' to sex attack
A taxi passenger could have vital information about a sex attack on a teenager in Reigate in the early hours of Sunday, Surrey Police have said.
Officers said the man flagged down a licensed vehicle at about 03:15 BST in Cockshott Hill and was dropped off in the High Trees area of Horley.
Det Con Errol Chetty said the taxi passenger was being sought only as a witness.
Another man in his 30s has been arrested and bailed pending inquiries.
'Not in trouble'
Police said the suspect was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and bailed until 6 May.
Det Con Chetty said: "I would like to stress this man [the witness] is in no way in any trouble or being treated as a suspect.
"We would like to speak to him purely as a witness and I would urge him to come forward as a matter of urgency."
The taxi passenger was described as white, in his 30s, with brown hair and stubble.
He was alone when he got into the vehicle.
