Surrey Police appeal over Redhill town centre brawl

People who saw a fight between four men in Redhill which spread around the Surrey town have been asked to contact police as a matter of urgency.

Surrey Police said many people saw the incident on Wednesday and spoke to officers, but police wanted to speak to other passers-by who left the scene.

Officers said an argument broke out between the men which then escalated.

Police attended the scene and spoke to the men but none of them made allegations against the others.

All four were made to give their details and then ordered to leave Redhill after the fight at 10:45 BST.

Appealing for information about the incident, Sgt Karen Coyne said: "Officers were quickly at the scene following calls from concerned members of the public who believed the incident would escalate.

"Although many people in the vicinity who had witnessed the incident were spoken to by officers, some people affected by it may have already left the scene and I would ask them to contact us as a matter of urgency."
