Jewellery stolen in Nutfield store robbery

A member of staff was assaulted and several items of jewellery stolen in a robbery inside a shop in Surrey.

Two masked men went into the jeweller's in Nutfield High Street while the member of staff was unloading a vehicle in the car park at about 08:45 BST.

Surrey Police said no weapons were used and the staff member did not need medical treatment.

A spokeswoman said it was too early to say which items of jewellery were stolen or how much they were worth.

Det Sgt Karl Humphrey appealed to any witnesses to come forward.

"I would also like to ask people to keep this incident in mind and if you are offered or given any jewellery which you believe could be stolen to also contact officers with information," he said.

One robber was of large build and was wearing black clothing with a hood. The other was of medium build, around 5ft 11ins tall and was wearing a grey tracksuit with the hood up.
