Surrey office block to be demolished for homes and shops

A vacant office block in the centre of a town in Surrey will be demolished.

Newman House, in Horley, will be knocked down this week as part of the redevelopment of the town centre.

Reigate and Banstead Borough Council said after the building is demolished, the site would be sold before detailed plans for its use are drawn up.

However, Natalie Bramhall, executive member for priority places, said the development is likely to include shops and homes.
