Woking attempted rape accused appears in court

A 37-year-old man has been committed to Guildford Crown Court for trial charged with the attempted rape of a woman in Surrey.

Mark Scully, of Gole Road, Pirbright, is charged with attacking the woman, who is in her 20s, near Woking railway station.

The incident in the early hours of Friday is alleged to have taken place in a wooded area near Greenheys Place.

The accused was remanded in custody by Guildford magistrates until 16 August.
