Surrey Police arrest man over Redhill park sex attack

A man has been arrested after a sex attack on a woman in a park in Surrey.

Surrey Police said the serious sexual assault happened in Memorial Park, Redhill, on Monday night.

A 22-year-old man who was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the attack is being held in custody, a spokesman for the police force said.

Detectives are still urging anyone with information about the incident in the park, which is near the town centre and the railway station, to contact them.

Officers said the area was usually very busy even at night, with commuters, shoppers and dog walkers, and want anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.
