Redhill car crash injures teenage pedestrian

A teenage pedestrian is in hospital in London with serious head injuries after a road accident in Surrey involving a car driven by a woman in her 70s.

The crash happened in Gatton Park Road, Redhill at 17:20 BST on Monday at the junction with Monson Road.

The 13-year-old girl was taken by ambulance to the Royal London Hospital at Whitechapel. The driver of the Honda Civic car was uninjured.

Gatton Park Road was closed while investigators were at the scene.

A motorcyclist also suffered serious head injuries in a collision with a car in Hare Hill, Addlestone at 19:20 BST on Monday.

He was taken by ambulance to St George's Hospital in Tooting, south London.

Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses to both accidents to come forward.
