Man shot by police in Woking admits gun and bomb hoax charges

A man who was shot by police in Surrey has pleaded guilty to having a gun with intent and making a bomb hoax call.

An armed unit was sent to Oak Tree Road in Knaphill, Woking, on 25 July after reports an armed man intended to hurt himself and others.

Richard Pell, 41, of Oak Tree Road, Knaphill, was shot at the scene and taken to hospital.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on 23 November at Guildford Crown Court.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission said one round was fired by one police officer.
