Surrey's first nappy recycling trial gets green light

A weekly nappy collection trial is set to begin in a district of Surrey.

The scheme in Mole Valley will be the first of its kind in the county, though the exact area in which it will take place has yet to be announced.

Rather than going to landfill, the nappies will be turned into plastic pellets and cardboard fibres ready to be made into new products.

Mole Valley District Council says about 240 tonnes of nappies and hygiene products will be recycled in the trial.
