Woman assaulted in Caterham alleyway

A man is being sought by police in Surrey after a woman was assaulted as she walked home during the early hours.

The victim, who is in her 20s, was attacked in an alleyway in Caterham, between Whyteleafe Road and Burntwood Lane, at about 00:45 GMT on Saturday.

She told police the man pulled at her clothing, causing her to fall to the ground, but she managed to get up and run away, suffering minor injuries.

He is described as white, about 5ft 9in tall, and slim with broad shoulders.

He had stubble on his face, and is aged in his early 20s, officers said.

He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top with a thick white zip, and dark baggy jeans which were low on the waist.
