Reigate pensioner tricked by raider with bird story

A man who talked his way into a Surrey pensioner's home by telling him he had seen a bird fly through a window, is being sought by police.

The suspect forced his way into the house in Felland Way, Reigate, and then threw water on an upstairs wall, saying there was a leak from the roof.

He told the victim, who is in his 80s, that he could fix the leak, but the man declined his help and he left.

Surrey Police said they believed the man acted alone and nothing was stolen.
