Surrey Police seek two men over Brockham sex assault

Two men are being sought after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in a Surrey village.

The girl was attacked in Brockham on Saturday evening in an alleyway next to Wheelers Lane, near the village centre.

Det Insp Sean Kelly said a second man approached the offender after the attack and the victim believed the men knew each other.

He said police did not yet know how the second man was involved but urged him to contact the force.

"At this stage in the investigation we do not know what involvement the second man had and I would appeal to him to come forward and contact us with information as this may be vital," Det Insp Kelly said.

'Extremely distressing'

He also said there had been a fair in the village at the weekend and there would have been a number of people in the area.

Det Insp Kelly urged anyone who saw what happened or who had any information about the attack between 18:30 BST and 20:30 BST to contact the force.

"We are working closely with the victim and their family during this extremely distressing time and specialist officers will fully support them throughout the investigation," he said.

"I would like to reassure the local community that we are doing everything we can to find the person responsible."

The attacker was described as white, in his 20s, with a muscular build and short, black, spiky hair, and wearing shorts that were thought to be blue.

The second man, who approached the suspect, was described as white, in his 30s, with blond hair and possibly wearing a red top.
