Part of the Surrey stretch of the M25 has been reopened after a mobile crane hit a safety barrier.

The carriageway was closed at 10:15 BST between junction 9 at Leatherhead and junction 8 at Reigate. Two lanes were reopened at 11:00.

The Highways Agency has warned drivers to expect "severe delays" on the anti-clockwise part of the motorway.

The crane will be recovered later when traffic dies down and all four lanes will be closed again.

A diversion has been put in place from junction 10, rejoining the M25 at junction 8.
