Chertsey teenager charged with John Beaumont's murder

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with murdering a teenager who died after being attacked in a Surrey park.

John Beaumont, 17, from Chertsey, died on Tuesday at St George's Hospital in south London after the assault in Addlestone on Monday afternoon.

The boy charged with murder, also from Chertsey, was remanded in custody by Guildford magistrates and will appear at Guildford Crown Court on Friday.

A post-mortem examination confirmed John died as a result of head trauma.
