A man who pleaded guilty to causing a fire which destroyed a reconstruction of an Iron Age roundhouse has been sentenced to 16 months in a young offenders institution.

Oliver Harrisyn, 19, of Links Close, Ewhurst, was detained after admitting arson at Guildford Crown Court.

The thatched roundhouse at Sayers Croft Trust in Ewhurst has been rebuilt since the fire last November.

The building is used as an educational resource.

A charge of arson against co-defendant Aaron Harvey, 19, of Guildford Road, Horsham, West Sussex was dropped in October.
