Former soldier Brian Mulligan killed in Barbados


A former soldier from Surrey has died on the Caribbean island of Barbados.

Brian Mulligan, from Ashtead, who died on Sunday, is believed to have been stabbed in the chest in a row with a local man in Christ Church.

Barbados Today newspaper reported the victim was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, where he died from his injuries.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "We are aware of the death of a British national in Barbados on June 15."

It added: "We are providing consular assistance to the family at this sad time."
