Tribute to pedestrian killed by lorry in North Downs
The family of a pedestrian who died after being hit by a lorry in the North Downs have paid tribute to him.
James Attwood, 30, from the Havant area, was struck by the lorry on the A31 Hog's Back, near Puttenham in Surrey on 11 September.
An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned.
In a statement, his family said: "We are in complete shock and desperately struggling to come to terms with our loss."
The crash happened at 10:00 BST and police have appealed for witnesses.
The family added: "We cannot believe that such a tragic accident has robbed us of the chance to spend a lifetime with a loving son and brother who was loved by all who knew him.
"James was happier than ever and had his whole life ahead of him. He had just been promoted at work, had fallen in love with a beautiful girl and was in the process of securing a flat.
"We just can't understand how this could have happened."
