Cyclist killed in hit and-run crash in Beare Green

A cyclist has been killed in a hit-and-run crash with a vehicle in Surrey.

The man who had been riding a mountain bike was found on the A24 near the Esso petrol station in Beare Green at about 01:25 GMT by a member of the public.

The 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, Surrey Police said.

A 47-year-old woman from the Horley area has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident and drink driving.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Surrey Police.
