Man bailed over Epsom derelict building arson attack

A man arrested on suspicion of starting a fire that gutted a large derelict building in the centre of a Surrey town has been released on bail.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service was called to the blaze in East Street, Epsom, at about 02.20 GMT on Thursday.

Firefighters were still at the scene a day later. Traffic diversions are in place until the building is made safe.

Police have urged anyone who witnessed the fire or who saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact them.
