A 51-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found stabbed to death.

Police said the body of 47-year-old Mark Harris was found after officers forced entry to a property in Summers Road, Farncombe, near Godalming, at 18:00 GMT on Monday.

It is believed the two men knew each other.

A post-mortem examination listed the cause of Mr Harris's death as "stab wounds".

A police spokesman said officers wanted to speak to anyone who was in the Summers Road area on Friday evening who may have heard or saw anything out of the ordinary.

"We believe this to be an isolated incident," said Det Ch Insp Karen Mizzi.

"We are carrying out a number of inquiries to establish the full circumstances."
