Three arrested after man attacked in Hove

A man and two women have been arrested after a 44-year-old man received serious head injuries in an assault.

Sussex Police said they had recovered a hammer which may have been used in the incident in Clarendon Road, Hove, shortly before 0400 BST.

The man was found in the street by an ambulance crew called to the scene, but officers believe the attack may have taken place in a flat at Conway Court.

He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in a critical condition.
