Teenager attacked in Eastbourne comes off critical list

A teenage boy who was left with head injuries following a late-night attack in East Sussex is no longer in a critical condition.

Sussex Police said the condition of the 15-year-old boy, who is in hospital in south London, had improved and was not thought to be life-threatening.

He was taken to King's College Hospital with a fractured skull after the attack in Eastbourne at 0414 BST on Saturday.

Two men in their 20s have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm.

Eastbourne magistrates remanded them in custody on Monday to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 15 October.

The teenager, who is from Eastbourne, was assaulted in Milfoil Drive.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses.
