Two hour siege in Brighton ends with arrest

A two-hour siege in Brighton ended peacefully earlier with the arrest of a 43-year-old man.

Firearms officers were called to a house in Newick Road, Moulscoombe, at about 0800 BST following reports of a man with a shotgun.

Sussex Police said no shots were fired and no one was hurt in the incident, which ended shortly before 1000 BST when a man emerged from the house.

Officers are carrying out a search of the property.
