A fourth man arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of a man who was shot through his front door in West Sussex has been released on bail.

The 48-year-old man was arrested on Friday after the victim suffered minor leg injuries when he was shot in Park Way, Crawley on Tuesday.

Three other men arrested over the shooting have also been bailed.

Sussex Police said the victim, aged 29, slammed the door on his attacker before two shots were fired.

Det Ch Insp Steve Johns said: "Detectives are working closely with colleagues outside of Sussex in this complex inquiry, which is developing each day.

"We appreciate the support of the community in this investigation, where intelligence has been key."

The force has confirmed the injured man was the victim of an arson attack on 5 July and officers were investigating possible links.

In that incident, the victim's window was smashed and accelerant poured into the property, causing damage to the living room.
