A cricket club in East Sussex has been damaged by fire for the second time in two weeks.

Sussex Police said the changing rooms at Mayfield Cricket Club in Crowborough were set alight at 0215 BST on Sunday.

Two weeks ago, on 3 September, a fire destroyed the tea building and adjacent pavilion at the Wellbrook ground.

Det Sgt Julie Dow said: "It is distressing for the community and all those who enjoyed the cricket club facilities."

Police are treating both fires as suspicious.

The village club, which has roots back to 1750, fields two teams in the East Sussex Cricket League and two youth teams.
