'Motiveless' attack near Eastbourne seafront

A man suffered serious injures when he was attacked by a group of men on the seafront promenade in Eastbourne.

Sussex Police said the victim was approached by four men who had got out of a silver taxi near Fort Fun at 2325 BST on Saturday.

They kicked him to the ground and punched him repeatedly in an attack that lasted several minutes.

Appealing for witnesses, a force spokesman said: "This appears to be a completely unmotivated attack."

The victim was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital where he was treated for serious facial injuries, she added.
