Thieves steal 'irreplaceable' items in Sussex burglary

Jewellery worth more than £23,000 and other personal possessions have been stolen from a house in West Sussex.

Sussex Police said the "irreplaceable" items were taken during a burglary in Wakestone Lane, Bedham, near Kirdford on Friday.

The force is linking the break-in to an attempted burglary at a property also near Kirdford on 13 October.

Officers have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Det Con Mark Burgess, of Sussex Police, said: "The items stolen are of high sentimental value to the owners. Detectives are currently investigating both incidents and are treating them as linked.

"If anyone has any information that might lead to the return of these items or the identification of those responsible they should contact us immediately."
