Volunteers wanted in Eastbourne for artefacts audit

Volunteers are being sought in an East Sussex town to help carry out a huge audit of its local history and archaeology collection.

Over the next year, Eastbourne Borough Council wants to sort through hundreds of boxes and thousands of artefacts in the basement of the town hall.

The collection includes 2,500 objects, 1,500 photographs and 10,000 archaeological artefacts.

The hope is that they will become more accessible for study and research.
