Lewes woman charged with doorstep stabbing

A woman has been charged in connection with the stabbing of a married couple in their 70s on their front doorstep.

Rose Spanswick, 59, of Hawkenbury Way, Lewes, has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and one of aggravated burglary.

Sussex Police said Ms Spanswick is due to appear before Lewes magistrates on Wednesday morning.

Officers said a couple were attacked after they answered the door to a woman in Hawkenbury Way on Monday.

The two victims have now left hospital.
