Lewes woman remanded in custody over doorstep stabbing

A woman charged with stabbing a married couple on the doorstep of their Sussex home, has been remanded in custody.

Rose Spanswick, 59, of Hawkenbury Way, Lewes, has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and one of aggravated burglary with intent.

Sussex Police said she entered no plea and will next appear at Lewes Crown Court on 5 February.

A couple in their 70s were attacked after answering the door to a woman in Hawkenbury Way on Monday.

They were treated in hospital and have been released.
