Three charged after hammer attack in Brighton squat


Three people have been charged after a fight in Brighton in which a 41-year-old Portslade man was hit on the head with a hammer.

Police said a fight broke out at a squat in The Cliff, Roedean, on Sunday at about 1820 GMT.

The attack victim, who had also been hit on the hand, was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital for treatment.

Two men have been charged with affray, while a woman has been charged with obstructing police.

Police said another man was detained for court after failing to appear on warrant, while two other people arrested had been released without charge.
