Driver dies after car hits bridge on A21 in Sedlescombe

A man has died after his car left the road and hit a bridge in East Sussex.

The crash happened at about 0716 GMT when the Peugeot 107 left the northbound A21 at Sedlescombe and struck a bridge parapet.

The 37-year-old man from Bexhill died at the scene. Police said his next-of-kin had been informed.

The road was closed between Marley Lane and Johns Cross following the accident. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
