Go-ahead for open market revamp in Brighton
- Published
Multimillion-pound redevelopment plans for an open market and affordable homes in Brighton have been approved.
The London Road site will provide 44 permanent stalls in a continental-style market and 87 energy-efficient homes.
The plan is a joint initiative between the market traders, housing association HydeMartlet and the local authority.
The £17m building project, which was approved by the city council, is expected to start in March and take about two years to complete.
During construction a temporary indoor market will be provided on site.
