Firefighters have been tackling a large fire at a recycling centre in Sussex.

Seven refuse lorries caught alight at the depot in the Bevendean area of Brighton shortly after 1400 BST.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue said the flames spread to storage areas containing waste paper and plastic, but the fire was brought under control.

No-one was injured, and there was no need for nearby buildings to be evacuated. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
