Police investigating an assault that left a boy critically ill believe the attacker has talked about the incident to other people.

Mohammed Bourner,15, had been to a beach party in Bexhill on 28 October just before he was punched.

Det Ch Insp Nick Sloan has made a fresh appeal for information.

He said: "There is a very strong likelihood that the offender may have spoken to several people after the assault and confided in them."

Mohammed, known as Mo, remains on a life support machine at Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre in Haywards Heath following the attack in De La Warr Parade.

Mr Sloan said: "This is such a heartbreaking incident and we want justice for Mo's parents who have not left their son's bedside as he fights for his life.

"I just need one person to dig up the courage, step forward and help us to get justice for Mo."
