A second man has been arrested by police investigating the death of a man who was attacked in his Brighton home.

Christopher McLean, 65, was assaulted by two men who barged into his Caledonian Crescent flat on 6 January.

Nearly two hours later Mr McLean began to feel unwell and died soon afterwards. A post-mortem examination showed the cause was heart disease.

Police said a 45-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and robbery and bailed until 1 March.

A 40-year-old man held on 12 January in connection with the death of the father-of-four was freed on police bail until 29 February.

Mr McLean, who was known as Mac, answered the door to the suspects between 20:00 and 20:30 GMT.

The men confronted him, barged into his flat and a fight broke out, police said.

Following the post-mortem examination, officers said further tests were being carried out to establish the link between the incident and his death.
