Sussex Police use 'bait' cars to catch thieves

"Bait" cars are being used by police in East Sussex to catch and deter thieves.

The vehicles contain items left on display such as sat navs, bags and computers, along with covert cameras to capture the thieves in action.

Officers said they were using them throughout Hastings and St Leonards due to a recent rise in vehicle crime.

Posters have also been put up to raise awareness and to prevent members of the public from becoming potential victims of crime.
