Sussex Police: Two men held over jewellers raids in Chichester

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempting to raid two jewellery shops in Chichester, West Sussex.

Police were called to Gold Arts in East Street at about 02:00 GMT after a member of the public saw men hammering at the window with sledgehammers.

Shortly afterwards, the alarm went off at the nearby Ernest Jones store.

Two men, a 31-year-old from Havant in Hampshire and a 25-year-old from Chichester, have been arrested. They are currently in custody.
