Five arrests over Brighton city centre brawl

Five people have been arrested and bailed after a brawl in Brighton city centre which left a 21-year-old woman with a fractured jaw.

Sussex Police said the fight had broken out in North Street in the early hours of Saturday.

Det Con Jane Walker said police wanted to speak to members of the public who had helped the seriously injured woman.

Three men, aged 19, 24 and 26, and two women, both aged 21, were held on suspicion of affray.

One of the women was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and the 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.

The victim was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact the force.
