Arundel street stabbing arrest made

A Sussex man has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing another man in the arm with a kitchen knife.

Police said a 38-year-old man was stabbed in Canada Road, Arundel, at about 18:00 BST on Wednesday.

He was taken to St Richards Hospital, Chichester, for treatment to a deep cut to his right forearm.

A 26-year old local man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. His was being questioned by Sussex Police.

The force said no-one else was hurt during the incident.

A Sussex Police spokesman added: "Inquiries are being made to establish exactly what happened but this is not believed to be a stranger attack."
