Teenager arrested over Lewes road crash
A teenager has been arrested after an 88-year-old woman was critically injured in a crash involving two cars in East Sussex.
The woman from Peacehaven, who was a passenger in a Ford Fiesta, was injured when the car collided with a Fiat Punto on the A26 near Lewes on Monday.
Sussex Police said she was in a critical condition in hospital.
A 19-year-old man from west London was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and bailed until 18 June.
The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a 63-year-old woman from London, was treated for minor injuries at the Royal Sussex County Hospital and then discharged.
Sussex Police have appealed for witnesses to contact officers.
