Eastbourne horse rider dies after suffering head injuries

A woman who suffered severe head injuries after falling from her horse on a road in East Sussex has died.

The 28-year-old rider, from Eastbourne, lost control of her horse after it was startled on the A271 near Hailsham on 28 May.

The horse began galloping along Under Road, Magham Down, at 18:00 BST. The woman was flown to the Royal London Hospital.

Sussex Police have appealed for witnessess to contact them.
